Here's some background on the car as I've gotten a couple PMs about it: Car has 17.8k miles on it now, I bought it with 17.7k. Original owner bought it new, drove it on the street for some time and then went racing with it. Pretty much parked it for several years in a warehouse before I got it in 12/05. I am the second owner. Car has CS2, PW, tilt, defrost, G80 rear, manual PS mirror, AM/FM/cass/EQ, but no PL or Pseats or trunk.
According to Mrs Kenny Duttweiler, the engine in it was built in April '99 with the following: JE pistons fitted for 3.840 bore, stock rods, ARP 3/8" rod bolts, Competition Cams hydraulic 232-232 cam, head volume of 47cc, Isky valve springs w/106psi seat pressure, 1.740 exh & 1.730 intake valves, Weldon oil pump, Turbonetics T3BB turbo and a few other things. The intake/etc was all set up as 84-85 hot air style, no intercooler but kept the 86-87 electronics w/no AC or heater core. Car is now back to 86-87 intake, turbo, intercooler, etc.
Transmission is an Art Carr unit, originally w/non-lockup 4K stall Art Carr 9" convertor modified by Dynamic Convertors in Newark, DE. I've since converted the tranny back to a lock-up with a Pat's 2800 stall convertor (thanks Otto!!!) but otherwise tranny remains as it was built.
The strengthened 8.5 rear (4.10 gears, spool, Ford brakes, etc) was sold and I have a stock G80 3.42 rear in it now. Has had a bunch of other stuff done to it - Powermaster removed and converted to vaccum, extra trans cooler and extra vaccum reservoir, all body bushings have been replaced with metal pucks, etc.
Car ran an 11.03 at Atco in April 2002 and according to the original owner, he used to launch the car with 20lbs of boost...not bad for a "hot air" car!
