AlaskaBuick, there is a good chance your intercooler caught all of it. I flushed mine with a water hose several times and they all came out. dont lose sleep over it, jsut flush the intercooler.

good luck

Your turbo

Ralph,

what was you turbo and how did it break?

How many miles or runs were on it?

Thanks for the Advice, I may start working on it this weekend.

Have really lost alot of interest at this point and the car has just sat. Puts me in a bad mood every morning when I walk by it. So I better get on it and deal with it.

Did you bend any valves on yours? I guess a comprssion check will tell the story.

I would post a picture of the impeller but I am not familiar with posting on this site? It is different then the V8 site.

email me at dennis@composite-tech.com and I will send you a picture.

Dennis, amazingly mine sucked in a paper towel when I had no filter on! I was working on the engine and it sucked it in, I flushed the intercooler and found towel pieces and turbine pieces, I got the turbo fixed and it is now on the car. I am having no problems at all, runs great, everything is fine. and my impellar was really shot!

keep us posted

Dennis,

I installed the Extender chip that I had on hand which was burned for the 60# mototron fuel injectors I have. The car seems to run better...it doesn't feel as sluggish anymore. The only true test is to go to the strip and flog it down the quartermile to see what happens. If I were you I would go with the PT61 from PTE as a replacement for your PT52, it probably is cheaper too!

I don't know when I will be able to find time to go to AK Raceway Park...I am buried with work and it is hard to break free with 3 young kids. I am going to try to get free once in August and once for Labor day...we will see, awfully hard to sell that to the wife...its like, "Honey, you watch the kids all day while I play." That will fly like a lead balloon! I am going to have to give her something, in order break free to play. Such is life with a non-automotive enthusiast wife.

Are you planning to come down to Anchorage anytime soon?

Mark

61

Mark,

I had thought about the 61 but wanted to be sure I had quick spool up since I had a 3000 stahl. Now after the fact I wish I would of went with it. My converter is Stalling at the line at 3400 so it might work ok with a 61.

Im not sure I will make it down again with the GN due to the problem.

I may bring by 70 GS sportwagon down, it has a aluminum headed stage 2 big block. Lots of fun!

Maybe we can get our wifes to hang out in Anch with the Kids while we go racing?
:D
