So,i'm looking to upgrade my stock turbo,
the car is mostly street driven, and want a good all around turbo,
so i can run it at the track 1-2 times a month,

even better what kinda combo should i get, turbo, injectors, chip,,,ect gotta shut down a few friends supercharged mustangs;)
the car has a turbo 350 trans
3000 stall
adjustable fuel reg
190 intank pump
hotwire kit
adjustable wastegate

so let me know!!

I'd throw an alky kit on there, put in an alky chip, turn the boost up to 22lbs and spank most of them.

My car ran mid 12s with a 2.0 60' time on the stock turbo/injectors/intercooler with 93 octane and alky.

If you're stepping up, look at the 44, 60, or 61.

I have a GT6131E that would rock with a 3000 stall. Its very responsive even with the 2700 stall I have now. Best times posted in sig with it.

Do you have any goals in mind mph or e.t. wise? If not, then the stock turbo is a pretty good all-around turbo. A TE-44 is a good upgrade for a Street/strip car. For a street/STRIP turbo you need to decide what your goal is and I am sure someone can steer you to the proper turbo.

goal is to run in the 11's and have it not breaking stuff:) i used to run a mustang and always breaking stuff and kinda sick of that
so goal 11's and still drive it every weekend!:D

A GT61 with either the 52E or 31E exhaust wheel will make running 11's a breeze with 20-22# of boost.

A TE-44 with a lot of boost will get you 11's and will work well with your 3000 stall converter. It seems that the -61 turbo is popular now and should net 11's with less boost than a -44 but may need more than a 3000 stall. Most turbo vendors that support this board should be able to get you set up. I purchased my TE-44 from PTE 4 years ago.

We have a smilar problem. I was a Mustang guy before the GN and was looking to make some good power.

I just had a set of heads/Intake Stage 3 P&P by Tony at VPE & decided to go with a PT6152E. I was told by a person in NJ that I might have build a shortblock for me that he knows someone with this setup using Tony's heads and runs 11.70s @ 116-117 on straight 93 Octane. I'm sure with Alky and traction that's probably low 11s/high 10s. With 3K stall, I would definitely go with the GT6131E.

I use the GT6131E with a 2700 stall convertor (complete stock factory unopened long block) and still muster a 1.6x 60'. A 3000 stall is what I plan to get next tranny rebuild and should work beautifully. The GT6131E is a turbo is tested out for PT&E and you have to specifically ask for it and its a few $$ more than the regular GT6152E they sell...but all it is is a GT61 compressor with the 31E exhaust wheel from their base TE44 turbo. Spoolup is quicker but top end hp is slightly sacrificed.
As mentioned, 11's can be done with a TE44, but at higher boost levels, which is harder on everything engine-wise.

Te-61

I got a Te-61 with like 1000-1500 mi on it from Limit Engineering
Its got a .63 A/R ... Will take $550.00 Turbo is practically brand new.. Email smokinttype6@yahoo.com for pics... By the way it spooled really well with a 3200.. Had a 60 on a 2800 an it spooled just as well..

I have a question about this GT6131E turbo, is it bigger or smaller than a 44?
If topend power is sacrificed, i assume its smaller.
Just wondering because someone was asking me, and i didnt know

Sorry for the confusion...the comments were in reference to the standard GT6152E. The GT6131E I have is the same GT61 compressor wheel (bigger than the TE44's), but the exhaust wheel is the same size as the TE44's.
This allows for better spoolup than the standard GT6152E, but looses a littel power on the top end compared to it. This is with a .63 AR exhaust housing.

AHHHHH

So its a te44 with the bigger wheel but does it spool faster than the 44?
Probably not huh?

Thank you, i get confused with all the letter and numbers of all the newer turbos...
44,54,Te45a,GTQ70 so much easier for me to remember specs!

No not at all because the compressor wheel is bigger than that of a TE44, so it will take more to get it going, but it does spool a little faster than the standard GT61 with the 52E exhaust wheel, which is a bigger exhaust wheel than the 31E.
