I wanted to see if there were any interest in a reproduction Turbo Inlet Bell for a hot turbo? I had a friend of mine turn me one on his lathe and made out of billet aluminum. He modeled the bell off my 1985 T-Type, which I would guess that it is the same for all hot turbo’s. I will post pics ass soon as I get a chance.

Thanks

I'm interested.
If you post photos and it's not an inconvenience, please show both side-by-side so they can compared. Did you enlarge it, make any other improvements or is this a stock replacement?

Thanks.

Nick

I have sent you an PM because being a newby I can not post pics. To answer you question. No, we did not enlarge it dew to questioning the structural integrity of the part being aluminum. If we used steel we may be able to make the part thinner but this would make the part more expensive due to material and the time to turn the part would increase.

Enlarging the adapter holes sounds great, but, it may hurt your performance. You should not go any larger than the inner hole on the compressor side of the turbo and no larger on the large end than the lip where the adpater meets in the intake.

Edit:
I think you are talking about the turbo to intake adapter?

Received your PM, Kripton. Here goes... There should be three photos; Two side-by-sides (side & top views) of the original and new piece plus a shot of the finished product by itself. A little blurry but good enough to get an idea.

sorry about the slight blurry ness but all i had at the time i had was my camera phone.

My friend that made the two for me said if he could justify a 50 piece run he would produce that. So more the people that say they want one the sooner they can be made.

50? YIKES! Tell him to run qty 10 and amortize his set-up and programming time. (Maybe set-up reduction is a good start as well  )

Good luck. This "community" tried it with qty 25 3" DP's and can't get that done.

ya i would say run 25 as well. its a very nice piece and i wouldnt mind getting one or 2 for spares.

There is going to be a run made of these parts which they should be done in 3-4 weeks. I will let you guys know when they are finished.
Again if anybody is interested please let me know so i can inform you when they are done.
Thanks,
Daniel

I am new to this discussion board stuff.
I have a 1985 GN. I purchased it new.
I am interested in this piece.
I would like to get my engine rebuilt. I am having trouble locating anyone in North Carolina that knows what they are doing.

We are tooling up for anouther run if you are interested in one or two of these fine inlet bells please PM me. We will be asking $30 + shipping included will be the upper and lower O-ring. I mounted the prototype up to my car a cupple weeks ago and it fit perfectly. If you have any question please ask.
