I have not driven my '85 since I purchased it in Aug. of last year, and I'm finally getting around to working on it. I have tried in vain to install the turbo. The adapter O-rings and oil return line grommet are new, so they may be a little tight. How do you get the oil return line into the grommet. Also, how do you seat the adapter into the intake, while it's attached to the turbo. Or do you install the adapter on the intake first?

Could someone please walk me through the installation? Also, please be as detailed as possible. Thanks in advance.

blood,sweat,and cussing..:)

first off lube the o-rings and the drain grommet with a graphite lube.

i found the grafite to work the best.

take and stretch the return tube out ..dont be scared they are tough...and try to keep it about the same shape so the end will be about the right angle to go in the grommet.

as far as the adapter i found it easier to put it in the turbo first since the intake has more tapper for the orings to slide in.

once you have your drain tube stretched out more you should be able to sit the turbo up there and start the drain tube in the grommet and then work on getting the adapter to pop into place .

good lube is the key to the orings i fought mine a few times then someone on here mentioned the graphite lube and it was a breeze after that .

ounce you get it in take a dull opject like an old screw driver and gind it down so theres no point to it and you can carefully push the drain tube the rest of the way in if it didnt go on its own.

goodluck....RED

Wow, that was quick!

Thanks Red! The only thing I didn't try, was to strech out the oil return line. I'll give it another shot!

BTW, no blood, but TONS OF CUSSING! ;)
