yesterday for the first time i used my 4.0 upgrade.
looks cool, however the rpm's and speedo were way off at times(too high).
could this be in the program or something going goofy in the car ?

was fine with other turbolink

thanks

I didn't notice that, but when I imported my 3.0 runs to 4.0, the 3rd & 4th gear lights stayed on the whole time...

If it was intermittent, it wasn't the sofware ... more likely a connection issue with the car. If it is consistenly off, then I'd say it might be software ... however, testing hasn't revealed that to be different.

As far as the import issue between 3 and 4, can you send us the file Russ? We did have to write an import routine to import the data and it might have the switch "sense" backwards in the config file (which is an easy fix).

my 3rd gear light was on while i was at a stop light...

my temp was at -10 then shot to 180 when the car started moving

....it did say i was up to 90 mph in less time i thought i would be.

I'll shoot you the file Ken

:( *DOH*

Looks like the import routine wasn't interpreting bit flags (like gear switchs and TCC lockup) correctly when it wrote out the new file.

After all the testing we did, you'd think I'd see that ... but NOOOOOO! :) In my defense, I spent most of my time in "RealTime Mode" checking against the car.

Anyway, we will have the update up on http://www.turbo-link.com really soon (hopefully by the end of the day).

Thanks for the catch guys!

Oh, and as for the "connection" issue ... check the ALDL connection and the cables, that sounds like something is intermittently loose and screwing up the data (also check the back of the PC ... I get similar things when the seat cushion pushes up on the back of the serial port connection when I hit a bump).

The fixes for the problem are out there...

Go to the UPGRADES section of http://www.turbo-link.com/discus ...

You'll have to re-import any 3.0 files to get the values corrected.

BE SURE TO READ THE README file in the directory before doing the install

On another note ... we had a 1992 TPI F-Body show up last night and tested VERY successfully with it! Pretty neat!:)
