I have a 1979 Buick Lesabre Sport Coupe. It is non intercooled and im just wondering how does that work?? Wouldnt the turbo just be producing hot air??

Thanks.. Im new to the turbo buick scene. Do you have any input on a turbo and intercooler setup that would work??

You're not going to like this answer, but I would advise you to sell yours and get an 86/87. Short of that, swap in the 86/87 drivetrain. I'm afraid there's not much (some, but not much) aftermarket support. Check the hot air threads.

Damn.. So theres no hopes of getting a bigger turbo and making it intercooled?? What about aftermarket exhausts, couldnt i just use an aftermarket one made for a grand nat??

Since it's carbed, it's VERY limited, as to what it can be made to do. I know it sucks, but, that's the story. Some things you can do, is get a good exhaust and intake, and maybe bore the engine out a little. Do the heads and cam, but that's about it. You're very limited in that car.

Would i see any noticeable Gain out of an exhaust and intake?? And what about a blow through carb for the turbo?? And would there be a way to up the boost a little??

The early cars are unique and there's an answer for you about a bigger turbo. Click on the second link in my sig if you want to know how to do it. It has taken me 3 years so far to figure out how to do it but it does work. Another of the B4Black members has taken my idea and started his own company so that the C/T cars and the HA cars have better options on bigger turbos.
