Since the drag strips are closed here for the winter, I'm getting the bug to upgrade my turbo during the off season. I called Limit Engineering and they can upgrade my TA-49 to a TA-60 for $410 or to a TE-60 for around $470. I am leaning towards the TE-60 but would like opinions on whether it will work with my restalled (2600-2800) D5 converter. Thanks.

that converter should work fine with either turbo.i got the ta 60 with a 2800 converter.:D

turbot---Do you have any lag at all? Do you have any drag strip times with the combo in your sig? Thanks.

i dont have that much lag at all. as far as track times,no, if i ever get this thing tuned it should go in the 11s, but hey isnt that what everybody says.2 years ago on street tires, i went 12.90 running 16 pounds of boost, but that was with a turbonetics turbo i use to run. the power is there , i just gotta get it running right.:D

Thanks for the information. Keep tuning and you should be able to run mid 11's with good traction.

thanks, thats what jim testa . he said he gurantees hell get me there but he aint guanteeing that i wont break nothing. well see:D

My TE 60 on a stock block stock head reed cam motor went 11.56 at 116 at 24 psi. I was only launching at about 8psi and only running 1.58 60' times. Not running the thing hard at all. You will see the rest. I have a 3000 stall but 2800 should do fine on that. It is a good running turbo, I love it and will be putting it on my daily driver with a stock D5 just for fun. Should be weak on the low end but will probably pull lik a freight train on the big end.

machinegun---Looks like the turbo is working well for you with 11.56 et and 1.58 60'. I would love to get 1.58 but since I don't run slicks, that will be difficult.

One concern I have about my current converter and the TE-60 is lag since I run the 1/8 mile here in NC. With the TA-49 I have instant spool. Guess the only way to find out is to get the TE-60 and see how it works. :)
