what would be really neat is if you were able to use the 86/87 turbo buick engine harness and computer to run the buick 455-

alter the harmonic balancer for the crank trigger
add a knock sensor
use the cam sensor instead of distributor??

piggy back off the injector harness to run 2 more injectors
add another coil for the 2 more spark plugs

all the guess work is done cause its double the size of the 231 ;)

would be neat if it worked!!!

Shame no one seems to build a blower kit for a 455 with a carb. I think it would be way cheaper and easier to tune! With 455 base cubes, putting in 8 psi of pressure would really wake things up! Personally if all you are building is a 700HP monster then you don't need a turbo or blower. A nice duel carb tunnel ram would also look cool! I think popping the hood and seeing a blower or tunnel ram is way cooler than seeing a turbo but that's just me.

I agree, put it in a Regal, not a TR. Sell the TR, buy a regal and use the money you made of the sale to build the engine. If your TR is clean you can probably sell it and take the money and buy a clean regal and build a complete 455 and either break even or have gas money left over.

I should have read this post before I made mine. I didn't know anyone made an out of the box kit for a 455 but then I'm not a V8 Buick guy.

I don't think you can just piggyback 2 more injectors in an SFI setup. If you were running batch or bank to bank this is probably OK. Going to spend a lot of money, better off getting a real V8 fuel management system cause you are probably going to go through a long tuning cycle. Last thing you want to be doing is burning hundreds of chips.

I still vote for a blown or dual carb setup!

Don't inject it, carb it. FAR less expensive and involved. There are guys making over 700rwhp with 302s on www.turbomustangs.com with turbos and carbs. There is even a seperate forum for carbed turbo applications there. Take a look.
