So what is the deal with the v2 setup? they dont make them anymore if I understand right? Can you only buy them used? I have found a great deal on a 85 gn but was going to hold out for an86/87, because everyone says that when you try to intercool a hotair car it cause more problems than good. but i have onluy heard great things about v2 setup. Who has them? what do they run, money wise? and what kind of power gains? i.e. 1/4 mile times, hp, stuff like that. Thanks guys.

Correct, they are not made anymore. Approx. 25 were done by a company called Turbomotion (no longer in business)

Only ones around were done several years ago.

I have seen and studied the v2 design in my new quest to make a newer version. His port work was one of the best I have seen.

I didn't care for the reclocking of turbo, tb angle and heavily crimped thermostat housing.

It is one of the quickest ways to turn a 84 engine into 86 performance or close to it.

You can't expect to just throw an intake on with a few other mods though, like chip, ecm, fuel pump, turbo (as 84 is small) and expect 86/87 #'s.

Internally there is very little difference between the engines.

Just sent off for my V2 set up. I'll be letting everyone my results. also changing the radiator, electric fan and the fuel system. Ecm is getting swapped too. I'm hoping to get my x-hot air as fast (if not faster) than the cool brothers!! We'll see about all the problems I run in to. Although starting with the 86/87 would be a lot easier!
(I love my lear siegler seats though!!!):D
