Finally got the car on the road for a test drive today. It lasted about 5 miles and the engine went on it. Everthing was fine then I looked down at the oil press. and it was at 0. The engine died and I coasted to a stop. Looked down and a hose from the TurboSaver was laying on the ground. By the luck of God a few local TurboBuick guys happend to drive by and helped me out. (THANKS FOR EVERYTHING GUYS)We put oil in it and we got it running. No major noises, but at idle I have about 1-2 psi of oil press. When I limped it back I had about 15 psi of oil press. What kind of damage do you guys think I did? The bad thing is I don't have the cash to get the engine done:mad: I don't know what to do now:confused:  I'm done venting now. :)

Did the hose break? If it just fell off it sounds like improper installation of a turbo saver killed your engine.

The hose came off by the filter. It has been on the car since before I owned it. :(

I had similar problems. Just drop the pan. You may be able to save yourself a rebuild by pulling the main caps and check the main bearings. Sounds like they may be toast. If they are, and the crank is OK, replace them. This will restore your oil pressure.

UPDATE

Went to start it today for the hell of it. Started right up oil press. went to 40psi. It idles at 20 psi. No noises or anything. Sounds just like it did before the hose came off! I think I got very lucky:) Oil is clean, no metal or copper.

I think if you still have the stock oil pressure sending unit, it will shut your car off when you have low oil pressure. I think.

If not, install a low oil pressure cut off switch.

Nah BT, the oil press switch is a backup. As long as the ECM is receiving crank pulses it will keep the relay on.

But you're right, a low press cutoff is a great idea.

If you were using synthetic(sp?) oil that might of saved the engine. I drove over a mile with NO oil pressure, and NO damage after floating a valve and kicking a lifter out of it's bore.

Good luck,
HOW

You're welcome, we were at the right place at the right time.

I am glad the pressure is back, just double check everything.

Get the car hot and see if its the same or close to at hot idle but before that, remove that POS remote oil system .

keep in touch

I second that! :D

also note how the pressure responds to reving the engine in neutral when hot. The pressure should shot up fast - almost like a tach
