ive been noticing that when i floor it my turn on led for the alky isnt constantly on. it kind of flickers. what could be causing this? should i just be looking for a loose connectoin or turn the turn on point lower? not sure

Two things come to mind, one is poor grounding to the main PAC controller.. or poor grounding to the turnon LED.

Does the power injection lite up correctly? And increase in brightness with boost pressure?

And.. we can check the MAP by looking at the stock boost guage on the dash.. does it start reading at 7 PSI then climb as the boost does?

Post back.

I have seen the turnon LED flicker if the vehicle has a very low battery.. kinda like dim. One case was on a Typhoon that was on a battery charger, the other a Vette with ground issues. Voltage to the PAC needs to be 11.5 minimum.

My light was flickering and was actually staying slightly lit and after a quick check i found my crappy solder had come loose at the green wire on the map sensor. I guess I got really lucky there. Got it all back and tight and the problem went away

turn on led

I had a bad alternator which caused the same problem. My friend richie high psi installed a new delco alternator & the problem went away.

i went out tonight and did quite a few test runs. on a track of course ;) .
well i checked the grounds and the map sensor connector. everything was fine. ground was a tad bit loose. the turn on led does not flicker anymore but i am seeing a lot of timing being pulled out according to the scanmaster. a few degrees at 35mph. which i am assuming is from the 1-2 shift? but around 91-95 mph i get 12+ degrees. the gain knob on my alky is turned on almost to full and i am only running about 11-13psi on my te44. my O2s were also at 719 on the 90+mph run with 12+ degrees. i do have stock injectors but i still dont think i should see that much knock. maybe my injectors are on their last leg. the knock is sometimes random also. i can get 10+ degrees of retard around 50mph with the gain knob again at almost full blast.
any ideas why i am seeing so much knock? the alky in my system is about 5 months old. it has just been sitting there. that may be one reason.
all help is appreciated

by the way. if anyone is wondering how their buick will do against a lamborghini diablo. . . . . . . a stock GN with about 13psi and a te44 can keep up from about 35-115. dead even. then i had to let off since my scanmaster was going nuts.

719 O2's.. two things. Definetely BAD.

Either your fuel pump/system is taking a dive, or your not spraying alky. One is test the alky kit.. does it stumble when you hit the test button? Does the level on the tank come down.. you know the drill  if so.. then test the fuel system.. does it maintain pressure? Does it raise 1 PSI per 1 PSI boost vs Fuel and maintain?

More than likely the 20 year old injectors on the car are probably toast.

The flickering lite means you have issues electrically on the car. Could be voltage drops on the car at WOT.. you now cant supply fuel, injectors get less voltage, alky pump gets less voltage.. see where all of this is going..

Suggestion, turn it down to 14 PSI and get if figured out. Going WOT and seeing knock is not where you want to be, unless you really want to build that new motor. Somethings can be trouble shot over a keyboard.. somethings over the phone.. somethings need an experienced mechanic working on it.

Start on one thing.. go to the next. Two many issues popping up on one post.

thanks for the help. you are always willing to help.
should i really be seeing so much knock at 11-13psi with the alky cranked up though? im pretty sure the flickering light was the loose ground that i tightened up. i primed the alky each time before i nailed the throttle. it stumbles when i hit the test button. my fuel pump is less than a year old. hotwired 340.
fuel systems seems to maintain pressure. when i go back out to start the car the fuel pressure is still in the mid 30s. and yes the fuel psi goes up with the boost. i was seeing around 60 psi with 12psi of boost. my fuel pressure needs to be adjusted. it was running a little high last night, yet my o2s would sometimes be so low. like i said, this problem is somewhat random. ill try and watch my voltage when i step on it again.
thanks again
