My 87 GN engine is stock. I recently installed flow through exhaust, cold air intake, new fuel pump with hot wire kit bigger fuel pressure regulator, 42lb injectors with matching chip from Eric at turbo tweak, RJC power plate. Car runs great. I was wondering if it possible to get more power out of the engine with out hurting it. I'm reading maybe a RJC boost controller would let me turn my boost up. Would I need an adjustable wastegate also?

The boost controller will work for raising boost, but you will be limited by the octane level of your fuel to 16#s approximately. You will need some way of measuring for knock and to aid in tuning. Most have relied on the scan master and power logger to keep the engines together. Alchy will allow you to turn up the boost to the limit of 23#s if you are still running the stock turbo, or if aftermarket, to ~28-30+. But w/o monitoring the vitals, you will be on"borrowed time" and become a new member of the D.O.T.C. Club.

yes you can get more power safely out of the motor, adjusting the rod will adjust boost, but will require you to have octane, which comes in the form of alky or race gas.you will also need a scanmaster to see knock/o2 volts and I prefer a wideband to see the afr better.properly adjusted the car will make a lot more power but you need to understand that will stress the drivetrain mainly the trans.

I think I will just keep it like it is and enjoy. Thanks for the info guys. Very much appreciated. Have a great Holiday.

You should consider a Scanmaster anyways whether you intend to turn up boost or not. They are an invaluable troubleshooting tool and provide the cheapest insurance against engine damage out there. It will also allow you to access the user adjustable features you already have with the TT chip.

Yes. I have a scanmster 2.1 and my numbers are all around good.

You're overdue for a new timing chain if you haven't already replaced it yet.
