Turning up the boost with evolution wastegate

so, i'm using the evolution wastegate with no boost controller. i have the 9lb spring installed and my boost is right about 8-9lbs. do i need a manual controller to turn the boost up? i've been searching the site and it seems like not a lot of people are using these...... is there a reason why? thanks

u can do it a few different ways.
1 get a stiffer spring to get the boost where u want it , for the waste gate
2 use a manual controller to bleed of some of the pressure that the gate ' see`s' to raise the boost,
3. a combo of the 2 a stiffer spring in the gate so say for example u want 18 psi go to a 14-15 psi spring and use a MBC to fine tune. doing this will get u the best results since u will have very accurate control over the boost. and if by some chance the controller acts up u will still be close to our desired boost levels
