TV Cable Question

This transmission is killing me...

1 - My TV cable almost seems not to have an affect on the shifting... what could that mean? No matter what position it is in, it doesn't change things. And yes it is hooked up on the transmission end.

2 - What should happen if the TV cable is disconnected at the engine? Would late shifts and a seeming inability to get into 4th gear make sense?

it controls line pressure so dont unhook it, reset it back all the way towards firewall then have someone step on the gas and wiggle the cable from behind a little as hes doing it, that should be proper setting.

I know with mine at that setting the shifts are soft untill i mash it

not that any of this really helps
