I install my transmission the other night and noticed something strange. The throttle valve lever or TV lifter rod (not sure of the correct terminology) was sticking out of the case about 3/8" of an inch when relaxed. I couldn't push it back down into the case. I could of sworn the few times I had the tranny out before, that rod (with the 90 degree bend at the end) was about flush with the case. When I tug on the rod, it moves up out of the case just fine.
It's very strange cause it was always tricky for me to install the TV cable with the rod being flush with the tranny. I would have to pull it out some to get the cable installed.
If this is an issue? Could this not allow the converter to be locking up? I can't get the converter to lockup during cruise or WOT. The powerlogger is showing the ECM is commanding it. I also connected A and F on the ALDL connector and heard the TCC solenoid click. I noticed my part throttle shift points are perfect and crisp, but WOT shift points are 600 rpm higher, with the TV cable adjusted where I had it before (I click tighter then GM spec).
Any ideas guys?
