Does anyone know how much this option was in 87? I am trying to put together a Window Sticker and I need the price to put on the sheet.

Also does anyone happen to have the Sentinel Operators Card that was hanging on the turn signal when these cars were new. Or is there anyone remaking these cards.

Thanks,
Ray

In 1987 the Twilight Sentinel option was $57 on my WE4 window sticker.

There was no tag hanging from the stalk either, operation of that option is explained in the owners manual.

What did the Twilight Sentinel even do? I dont have it on my car, but ive seen it on a few, and never understood what it exactly was.

Automatically turns the headlights on and off according to lighting conditions.

Thanks for the info guys.

I see a guy on ebay selling a twilight sentinal tags that did originally hang from your turn signal .They are on Ebay now and are quite cheap.

Maybe the dealer yanked them, although I instructed my dealer to touch anything, no prep, nothing, not even a dealer sticker on the trunk or a license frame. So they put their dealer ID sticker in my owners manual and thats how I got my cars, untouched off the truck.

A friend of mine bouight his GN new and he had the tag hanging from the turn signal lever.

Maybe Turbo RX-6 is correct, the dealers yanked them....

I dont recall seeing any tags either. Maybe you're thinking of another year and model? Like BadBuick said.

Besides. How important is it? If you dont have the protective plastic on the seats and carpet than a tag falls under anal over reproductiveness IMO. If they didn't come with a tag than it's over restored and points taken away if you show up with one. Now what shows have you been attending? Aint no rule book for judging these things to 1000 points anyway. Not to mention no judges qualified to issue a car gold status anyway. To bad the GNX didn't come with twilight. Than this issue could be solved.:D

I also took delivery of mine ( 11-16-85 ) as Turbo RX-6 stated. Unmolested by the dealer, with the front license bracket still on the floor. Even came with the original white crap/dirt on the exterior. No tag hanging.

I'll tell you what it does. When you accidentaly bump the switch to the on position without realizing it, it makes you walk around the car cussing wondering why the f&^%ing headlights won't shut off on this pile of s*&^ GM. Then when you find out why you feel really stupid. That is the only use I have found for it.

I thought the GNX had every option except a glass roof option.

Ditto on the dealer yanking tags. I do new vehicle prep and if you don't specifically request all that stuff (hasn't happened to me yet), it will be in the trash and you won't know it was there. Otherwise it ends up all over the parking lot when someone drives away in their new car. 99% of people don't care, and our sales people physically sit in your new car with you and show you the function of every knob and button before you leave. Saves us a bunch of time in the long run. You do get your window sticker if you want it and all your warranty info and owners manual. I am also "that guy" that drills holes in brand new front fascias for dealer tags. If you don't want one you'd better say so when you order it, because if you wait until you pick it up it will be too late. Again, 99% or better don't care, it's just transportation.

My front license bracket is listed on my rpo's. Again something my limited doesn't have. I thought the GNXs were all supposed to be fully loaded hardtops?

Nope. No T87 Twilight Sentinel on the GNX. Here are two SPID labels. Pic 1 is a turbo Limited with T87 and pic 2 is GNX #375.

I guess I am too. Okay here is just a plain old dark blue turbo Regal with T87 Twilight Sentinel.

If anything this just goes to show how sporadically 87 TR's were optioned out. On one end we have a almost fully loaded Limited with just about everything except the $54 option and than we have a stripped down Regal with hardly any options but windows and buckets seats with this option.

Oh man I am really screwed up. Okay I just got new glasses and to top it off I cant read my own chicken scratch. No lie. Okay final edit. Twilight Sentinel is RPO T82. That pic of the Limited SPID is correct. My third pic on the blue turbo Regal shows RPO T87 cornering lamps. An equally rare option.

Sorry for the massive confusion.:p
