I went to the Billetproof show in Antioch today. There were a lot of cool cars there. It is all 1964 and older and draws a lot of "Rat Rods" and home-built / scratch built cars. It is interesting to see what some people can do with practically nothing. Some od these guys are also incredibly talented and creative.
Anyway, one vehicle I seen that I thought might be of interest to some on this site was a little hot rod pickup. It was a 33 Ford closed cab pickup with a Banks Twin Turbo setup on a FLATHEAD! I asked the older gentleman who owned it how that flathead liked those turbos and he said it seems to be fine and a lot stronger than stock. His main reason for doing it was to be different and add power rather than using a supercharger.
He said he is new to turbos and he was only running it at 5 #'s boost antil he got it worked out. He also had a water injection kit. Oh yeah, they pumped into a box mounted on the carb. I wish I could have got a picture but by the time I got there the batteries had died in my camera. Nice guy, was in his late 60's early 70's.
If anyone cares to check it out the site for the show is www.billetproof.com .

Cool

I have been tossing that idea around for some time now. A T model with no hood, turbos out the side and the downpipes are the chrome 4" side pipes.
