Twin turbo Inline 6 motor from GM??

I remember reading about some Chevy Blazer or some other GM SUV that had a twin turbo Inline 6 motor that made 400hp.... Think I read that it ran 13's.....

Whatever happened with this?

Did GM just kill the idea of making it or what?

I also heard about some 2.2 liter turbo Ecotec motor that they had planned to put in a FWD Cavalier to compete with SRT-4 turbo Neon that Dodge is currently making and selling like hotcakes.....

Wonder if the General will ever built another performance type turbo motor for the public to buy

The 2.2L Ecotech motor is going into a Saturn Ion but will not be turbocharged it will be supercharged and probably only make around 200 horses though....

yeah i remember that article...i really wish they would rebadge and retool the monte carlo body style just a tad and put that motor in it and call it a new GN...that would be sweet! 400 horsepower factory with twin turbos...i would buy it instantly if i had the credit!

Trailblazer

I read an article written about the Trailblazer. GM did twin turbo one of them to prove the strength of the motor or capabilities of the motor. It would be an awesome addition to a power starved line-up if they did it. It would make an excellent Trailblazer SS....at least the SS badge would once again stand for something.

Yeah that's the one I was talking about....... That twin turbo 4.2L inline 6 motor would most likely respond very well to the basic bolt-ons and I'm sure it could easily make 600hp with the stock longblock.... GM needs to build something like that even if it's an SUV!

not sure it was the TT motor but one night in feb. i was driving home after a concert in mesa, AZ. i am at a light and a GM SUV in full camo, towing a trailer. i am looking at it, wondering. i motioned to the drive to roll the window down and see what the deal was on the truck. he would not do it. the light goes green and we take off at a normal pace and about 3/4 of the way in to the intersection i hear WHHHOOOOOSH. it had a turbo so i push the gas and make the GN whistle, we start to mess around a bit. the thing sounded very nice. it yanked that trailer well. i tried to get him to pull over give me a thumbs up. but he would not.

i'd buy it
