That belongs to Russell Hunt. He got his start with turbo cars with an 87 GN that he still owns.

It's a 398 Olds
I think the heads are Batten Aluminum
twin 76's
twin dominator intake for the lower
the upper is a homemade liquid intercooler using spearco cores mated to the lower

He was shooting for a reliable 1600hp but was hoping for 1800 during the tuning session. I'll call and get an update but the last time we spoke it hadn't made a pass.

I knew he checked this board out now and then but never saw that post you just put up there. I figured he's been putting so much time and all into his car he wouldn't have time to get close to the computer.

I try to keep a check on the this site much good info on here !!!
We are very close to testing the dragster just lack some minor chaissis tweaking and wheelie bar mounting. Gotta make a trip up to MI for a dyno session with John Meany Ill post the results after the dyno work is done. Thanks Russell

Yeah please make sure to keep us posted!:)

That thing is just awesome!!!!  :D

Almost looks like a jet fighter from the front view, with those
big twins hangin off the sides:cool:

Engine looks really wicked from the side view, nice work...

You guessed wrong.... It's a NasCar Oldsmobile block that is based off the 350 diesel DX block.... And the Chevy SB2 Rocket block that many use is based off the NasCar Oldsmobile and diesel DX block....

Its not far off from the DX block. The DX has 3 inch mains the NasCar ( HP block ) block carries the std Olds SB 2.5 inch mains and .842 lifter bores vs the .921 lifters on the DX the bottom end has alittle more meat than the DX but not much. No injector pump boss either. All in all is a fantastic block. To bad they dont make em anymore. They also have a siemesed version as well but they are like hens teeth.

Update

first full pass on the first night out it went a 4.45 at 160 in the 1/8th. It hit the wheelie bar to hard on launch causing the tires to unload and get a little squirrely. He also forgot to turn on the intercooler circulating pump so the inlet temps were on up there.

More times soon to come with cold water in the intercooler and the wheelie bar a little higher he is expecting 4.30's. The motor is setup for another 5-7 pounds of boost so we'll see where it goes from here. Traps speeds are expected in the 170 range in the 1/8th.
