Ive installed two TH2004R transmissions in two different cars, on trans is freshly rebuilt from turbo buick performance and the other is a stock used trans.
Both transes are leaking the same way, Ill run the car for 20 mins, let it sit and close the garage and come back a day later to find 3-4 quarts on the ground.
Both transes look to be leaking in the front under the inspection cover, no fluid coming from the sides or the back.

Where is the fluid coming from, has anyone experienced this before?
Is it the torque converter not being seated properly?
Both converters are freshly rebuilt units.

Its not coming from the vent on top or the pan or trans lines, on both ypu can see remanence in front of the pan.

One car, an 83 Hurst Olds, has sat in a storage locker for almost a year with this issue, Ive not had the time to investigate due to other projects, a busy schedule and it being a project car. The other is a daily driver Im putting together, I plan to look into it next week but would like some input begore I start putting in more DEX VI at $7.50 a quart...

Sounds a lot like a problem I had....ended up being a hair line crack in the converter. Pull the inspection cover and see if its leaking from the front seal. If not then leave the cover off and run the car, when I did that there was a fine mist of trans fluid spraying from the converter

Both converters are fres rebuilds from vendors here, that would suck if they both had pin hole leaks.
It would suck more if the rebuilt trans had a front main seal leak, I paid a heafty price for that trans do Im trying to rule it out as something else first.

Im gonna pull the pans on both and RTV them instead of having a stock cork gasket on there and see what happens.
Keep the ideas comin

Mike, my phone number has not changed. I have called you, left voicemails and emailed you numerous times in the past with no response from you at all. I believe your trans is under warranty, but either way, if there is a problem, let’s get it repaired. There is nothing more I can say or do without you contacting me first via phone…..

I guess a phone call would be to easy.....

Dave, thats a little over exaggerated dont you think...Ive returned every call and email except the last call in april because i know you wanted to build more transmissions for me and I dont have the funds. Plus I need to figure out whats wrong with this one, Ive put litterlly 8 miles on it...
I would like to figure out why its leaking before spending another $300 to have it properly palleted to ship back and forth since to properly ship takes $150 each way. Trans pan is badly dented on the side from it being shipped in a plastic garbage can with particle board supports that disinegrated and failed to properly support it. I had a crushed garbage can on my front step that sounded like it was full of bolts rattling around.
I spent $1550 on that trans, im still a little hosed that you chose to cheap out on shipping it a proper way on a pallet to save $75 instead of using the $150 I provided for freight and just spending $75 via UPS or whatever... $1000+$250 for converter +$150 core and $150 for shipping
Its not leaking from the pan, I straightened it and it seated fine, its leaking like a sive from the front but Im putting a new pan on it tomorrow, RTV and DEX 6 fluid and if its still leaking I guess Ill have to bite the bullet and send it back to get fixed.
Sorry to be a dick but Im at a loss here...

First thing first. Get the car up enough to be able to spray them down with carb cleaner and make sure there's no oil left that you can see. It will be messy but you will need to make sure it spotless. Put some talcum (sp) powder all over the thing and then run it for a minute or two. Shut it down and watch to see where the oil shows up. This will help you figure out if it's a rebuild issue or a bad seal. Simple and it may prove that it was an installer or rebuilder issue.
