types of alcohol to run?

Hey guys,

I just wanted to get it all cleared up on what types of fuel I can run on my alcohol injection. I was thinking about buying the alcohol that they run in dirt track modifieds, but I was told not to use that; just to buy denatured alcohol from the local paint store and mix some lube with it. So what's safe to run? Let me know what you guys are running.

Has to do with the pump you use. If your using an EFI style pump, then denatured is the way to go. If your using a diaphram style pump... then you can use any. EFI pumps have steel roller vanes and cannot accomondate a corrossive liquid. Denatured is less corrossive than methanol. And the lube is to assist the pump from having issues. On a diaphram pump no lube is needed..

Gets back to the pump used.

Which works better??? well thats irrelevant if you cant run it safely. If you have the option... methanol in my opinion is better hands down performance wise.

The safely has to do with killing the pump, once the pump goes..you have no system.
