Ultrachip??

When i got the car the chip was already installed. I have been haveing some problems with my car, and i am no mechanic but i think it is in the chip. The problems im having: every now and then my check engine light will come on, and when it does my car runs real sluggish, so i got smart and i turned the chip down to factory setting which is # 2 and turned the car off and when i start the car on the light is gone away. And for some reason it seams as if my car runs better with the chip on 2 than on say 6,7etc.
Has anyone else had this problem?

Don't run it on 4-7 unless you have race gas. There is to much timing and boost to run those settings on pump gas. I run mine on setting 3 and 93 octane. Any setting higher will give major knock retard and poor performance, and will eventually damage the motor.
