well i think im just gonna rebuild my turbo and not have it balanced ( cant find anyone to do it for me locally and want this done) the turbo is a ta 33 and i read up and it seems that some turbos are balanced as a unit and some are balanced individually . my comp wheel has some grinding on the back of it does that mean it is balanced itself .
just wondering what you guys think of me rebuilding it and not having it balanced probably not going to run this turbo forever jsut this year will it last and run ok?
also will a rebuild for a intercooled turbo work for mt hot air turbo ?thanks

If you're talking about a rebuild kit for an intercooled turbo working with the hotair turbo, I doubt it. The hotair uses a different seal or an extra seal on the compressor side. It needs this because the turbo is under engine vacuum and it will leak oil into the intake with a regular seal.

cool thanks now do you think i can run it for a while wihtout getting it balanced?

If your compressor wheel has a section cut off of it, that means that it was balanced indivigually. If it doesn't, that means that you're up a creek and need to get it balanced.

alright pretty sure it was balanced on its own now to see if i can get this thing back together the right way:D thanks for the help guys
