Under the Coil?? Thats the Ignition Control Module?

Sorry for stupid questions, in advance. The part under the coil, is what I'm after. Im experiencing problems after the car is warmed up, cutting out and hesitation. Is there a way to test this part?
Looking for a good, operable, one of these parts. Let me know your $$

I think your talking about the coil adaptor/base.

You could upgrade to the Stage 2 coils(3 instead of 1 block) If not, I think this is what your looking for Control Module - Ignition | 1987 Buick Regal 6 Cylinders 7 3.8L SFI OHV Turbo | AutoZone.com. I'm going stage 2 just been lazy to get around to do so.

Is your ignition coil module an 84/85 or converted to 86/87? If yours is an 84/85 you will be forced to upgrade to the 86/87 by the economics. Brad

or even to the newer style setup with 3 separate coils.

AKA stage 2 coils(off FWD 3.8s) it;s covered in the sticky for hotair's. either way it's better for your car all around, sooner or later you would have had to upgrade anyway.

Same problem

Im having the same problem with my t type. Starting up weak, interment cutting out while idling, now its hesitating with a weak idle and backfiring. Could this be a bad ignition coil? I know its still the stock 84/85.

Caspers I think sells the conversion kit so you can upgrade to 86-87 model. If one is going bad, the car won' t idle, tends to stall and then won't restart easily.

I upgraded to Caspers 86/87 stuff. That's exactly what the car was running like. Ran strong when cold, then after restarting ran horrible. Stalling, backfiring and hard starting.
