Look at my mods below. Would a PT51 with 50# injectors be a good match for what I already have?

I'm shooting for 11's, and I think the upgrading of the turbo and injectors should do it.
 
Forget the 51 since you already have a Precision converter. Go bigger like a TA61 or a 53...something bigger than a 51 and 50lb injectors, min.

You've already got the convertor, and if you're looking for a turbo (especially on the used market) a bigger one isn't gonna cost THAT much more. You'll be able to reach your goals easier,and always know that you've got MORE under the hood.

Will the 61 keep the car streetable? Not wanting to build a "race car" just a street car i can race.......if you know what I mean.:cool:
 
I run a TE-45A (basically a TE-66) on the street with no problems. I know plenty of guys that run a 61 in their street cars. I think with all the horror stories posted about the 51 I would avoid it at all costs. I used to run a TE-60 on the street and that was my fav street turbo. Spooled great with a 3000 stall converter.

You will need sticky tires with that big turbo!:D

I have a lil ta-49 w/ loosened convertor and it blows the new SZ50's everytime I get into it. Im happy at 21psi (not even the sweet spot!);)

It depends on how scared you get :D IMO, 24psi on the street w/ my combo will make me pee my pants!

We are down to only having like 200,000 people without power. It's raining today which isn't helping any. Going to be nice over the weekend for those of you that are considering going to Darlington Sun for a little testntune.

I think I'm genna get the TA-60 with the 50# injectors. That should put me in the high 11's without much problem.
