Hey guys looking for some info
anyone ever have to deal with an insurance claim through ups??

i bought an outer window felt off ebay and they shipped it between to pieces of cardboard taped together:eek:
so now i have a nos gm window felt that has 2 creases in the metal part

talked to the guys wife she says she got extra insurance on it and we will go through ups to get my refund
aren't they just going to say that its insufficent packaging because it wasnt in a box or reinforced with somthing??
i didn't even say do not bend

just looking at some input on how ups works there claims

thanks
matt

Save the "box" (packaging material) they used. Standard UPS isnurance is $100 even if you don't buy extra.
I'd complain to the E-Bay seller also, as he is the one who shipped. Good luck.

Putting Do Not Bend or Fragile on a UPS box is just a signal to drop kick the package as far as possible. Seller should have packaged it better than that.

ya they would use it for "kickball" at lunch  Now it doesn't sound like it was boxed up right.. Will UPS still cover that ???

Why should UPS cover his mistake of Poor Packaging?? Not their fault so go after the seller.

Even if UPS covers it the refund will go to the seller since they purchased the insurance with your money.

The seller will get the refund ... its crappy how that works.

I also heard if the buyer didnt package it correctly they wont cover it ... but I also heard that if they accepted the package for shipping its on them.

Sometimes they will write "not packaged correctly , not covered by insurance " on the box BEFORE you pay to ship it ---

Your claim will undoubtedly be denied. Improper packaging
