Ok, here's the story, I originally bought this... http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/e...=8075406111&rd=1&sspagename=STRK:MEWA:IT&rd=1
foolishly, i let him end early with my paypal payment, now there's no ebay recourse. What i was told, is that it's a 86 gn engine and trans, complete, almost ready to drop in. What i received was a casting # 290 1979 carburated buick v6 with a th350 lockup tranny, complete with carburated intake, stamped steel valve covers, etc... We email back and forth several times ( i kept all the emails) and i made all the necessary points of why this is not a 86 gn engine, but yet he insists it is. he even sent me a link from gnttype.org with all the casting numbers, proving i'm right? He says he called a buick dealer who researched the number as a 1986 gn engine code. He re-listed the engine, again stating that it's from a 86 gn, here... http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/e...1621&ssPageName=MERC_VIC_ReBay_Pr2_PcY_BID_IT
notice that he says he'll post the casting number later...

what i'm asking is that you guys write to him and ask the casting number, and when he replies, tell him it's not from a 86 gn at all... the more he gets this, hopefully will prevent someone else from getting burned and i'll get my money back. Thanks!!! :(

yeah, he's trying to sell it to get my money back... I really want this guy to open his eyes and realize what this p.o.s. is, instead of telling himself what it isn't.

i was soooo close to buyibg this engine. sorry dude hope it works out for ya

Are you close enough to pay him a visit???? Would have been real leery of buying something off ebay with ZERO feedback.

His first clue should be a carburator instead of the SFI . Who would take an 86 GN motor and put a carburator on it??? The picture he has posted as well as the descrption is obviously not the same engine/engines he is selling. He owes you your money back.

he said that the intake/turbo and all were removed and a 2bbl carb/intake was put on it... I think it's just a straight up scam trying to get someone that doesnt know casting numbers, etc.

the pic he shows is a SFI and he never mentions in the auction that anything is missing other than the turbo....

Since you didnt purchase on ebay, and DID pay with paypal, cant you contact paypal and ask for your money back since he is scamming the people on ebay right now, and scammed you out of 500??

Save the links, sounds like he should be arrested for selling something(in or out of ebay) and stealing peoples money....

I would also contact EBAY about the seller about his shady business actions ( selling fraudulant goods) and wouldnt tell them about buying the items off ebay...

ahh im thinking of the first auction that was posted where he says he has another 86 gn engine that 'comes with a 2bbl intake and carb..." he also gives the wrong casting number there :-/

Notice how the engine in the pic is real clean and running? Car was rear ended badly?

I won't buy if the pic is a cut n' paste. If they don't post a actual pic of the item...stay away.

I mailed him from ebay and never got a reply  personally I say SCAM and wouldn't wait to see if he sold it again to send you your $$$ back  any recourse with paypal ???

Look at his other items for sale. He is also selling an 84 GN/no title? with a V8 and can include a V6 for an extra fee. I love the deceiving picture that obviously does not fit the description he gives. Of course it is missing the turbo, intake, and fuel injection but has the correct tranny  Seeing that some of the bidders have "0" feedback Im assuming that they picked up on his lies and are going to scam him.

I might have gotten a little carried away with my message but, I hope justice is served. If anyone asks, I am an FBI agent. :D
