using cometic head gaskets

when using copper spray, how heavy of an application should be used? After coating, do you let dry or put on wet or tackey?
Also, how many put gaskets on dry without copper spray?
Does anyone use silicone around water jackets?
Tring to get info to keep from leaking.... Thanks....

2 coats on each side so they are fully covered,They can go on tacky,but torque them soon after.
This has worked for me on every set ive used.

I used them dry and had no problems at all.

I put mine on dry too. Small drip went away after the engine warmed up. I put some aluma-seal in the cooling system just in case.

I'd be careful about using any silicone around the water holes. Even with a small amount it could squish in a block the holes.
