Been really busy with school and work right now...........and now I am moving this weekend. So pics of my engine bay will be a little delayed yet, I will try and get them to wal mart this weekend.

My boost problem.........not sure yet........sounds like a VERY little exhaust leak by the turbo............so I am going to wait until next spring and rip the turbo off and check it all out. But, I must say at 10# of boost the car is pulling very hard and breaking the tires loose a lot more now. I also think my chip has to much fuel in it......because I am running at 29# with the line off the regulator...and she is still a little rich and hesitates from time to time..so the chip must have to much of a fuel curve or something......have to send that back yet and get it reburnt.
But, I have to put the car away this weekend.........getting cold and I am moving so once I am moved I am parking it for the winter. :(

Later Nick

your FP is set at 29# believe it or not that is why you are running rich. turn it up to at least 35 or so, try 38. see what happens. The reason it runs rich such a low FP is b/c the computer must notice it is lacking fuel and starts DUMPING fuel into the mixture. not good. Thats what i learned from personal experiences on my car and a friends....who knows maybe yours is different, but i would look into that

I had it at 40# line off and the damn car just spits and sputters like crazy but the lower I set the fuel the better the car runs.....I am thinking I may have a ingnition prob on top of the fuel problem??? I agree 29# is bad...........but still no knock......maybe because the computer is throwing the fuel in there too?? I will try to up the fuel again this weekend before I put it away for the winter months...............

Thanks Nick

Hey firebird350,

I was looking at your pic of your car and noticed you have a bigger turbo shield on the bottom of the hood. I have the same sheild. Do you have any problems with it getting to hot and the sheild's black coating or something dripping down on to the HOT up and down pipes??? Ever since I put on my ATR up and down pipes........the shield seems to be making a mess on them??? I will have to take a pic of it and post it........I cant see were else it would be coming from.

Nick

Yeh, i have the shield from BFH/buickgn.com that mess you are talking about is not from the shield. The shield will not melt or chip or anything, mine has been burnt and has an orangish luster to it, and my wastegate seems to be rubbing on it and scraped away at it, but that is it. anyways the black stuff u see is from your hood mat. I had the same problem. im guessing your hood mat is not in perfect condition, and is probably dropping black specs over everything. Thats what my problem was. i just got a used one was that a little better than mine and no more black specs!

Thanks............sounds like my problem. My shield is really messed up with my wastegate actuator hitting it....hood clearance probs with the V2. The shield has a two nice dents in it. Thanks Nick
