Does any one know the size of either of them. How far below the front swaybar does it hang.Is it (v4r) very street-able.

I saw a V4R on a car at Reynolds this year, and it looked dangerously low for speed bumps. I don't know the measurements of it though. I believe that I've heard that both the V4 and the V4R have the same scoop inlet locations, but the scoops are different in that the V4R sits deeper into the scoop than does the V4.

Turbo Mike has a great deal of installation experience and knowledge of the V4R from what I've read here.

I have the V4 and it is slightly lower than the stock intercooler scoop hangs but not bad at all for daily driving. I have seen the V4R on a local club members car and it does hang very low to the ground, probably 2-3 inches lower than the V4. You can slightly adjust the height of the scoop as well but I would stay away from the V4R on a car that gets a good dosage of street driving. Performance wise I really dont see any need to upgrade from a V4 to a V4R unless you are running 10.50's or faster in a full weight car and once you hit that performance level a front mount would be the desired choice for performance IMO.

BTW, it would be nice if Tony at CAS would make a cold box for the V4 that could be installed and removed fairly easy for trips to the track in this crazy Texas summer heat:cool: .

I have a V4R ... mostly because I wanted the biggest and baddest stock location.

My suspension is stock. I have no problems and I mainly drive my car on the street. I do drive carefully and have dinged up the shrowd once when i took a dip in the road at 15psi. The IC was fine...

The IC hangs as low as my PTS deep trans pan. I do not think it is that dangerous. Just be carefull.
