Anyone know of a good mechanic in the Northern VA area. My car is very low mileage (4780), but I'd like to have someone who knows these cars give it a very thorough once over.

I only know Reds from here, but Met Mike Smith in Bristol in 99 or 00, that plus talking to him on gnttype for years, I know he is a very good technician. I know he's in northern Va, just not sure where. He used to go by TurboMike on here. I've lost touch with him of late tho.

A little of both;)If I was in VA id definetely take my car to you,ive read all the people's post's whove brought there car to you with nothing negative to say and nothing but praise for you.

That and going 133mph on home ported heads and stock valves is quite an accomplishment too:D

Where are you in Northern VA? I'm in Manassas, personally. I'm no great mechanic, but I know more than the average newbie. Be glad to take a look at it if you want.

Heck, it'd be nice to see a GN right now. Mine's at a shop in MD at a transmission shop, with the transmission guy who was kind enough to blow my head gaskets when he was out testing my car......

Sorry to hear about your car....I actually read your post yesterday....I've been trying to do my homework:)

I'm very close to you.....Bristow. This is my second low mileage GN. My first one had 5,300 on it....that was about six years ago....I sold that one to Kirban whom I'm sure made a pretty penny on it. Feel free to shoot me an email at dgreen1069@yahoo.com.

Red, thanks for the reply....I'm a little ways from you and I don't get down that way too often. It is nice to know you are around if needed. Hopefully it won't come to me having to come down there, but if I'm ever in the area I'll give you a call.

Have you ever been over to Wright's Buick in Manassas? The owner there still has an all original GN there with next to no miles on it in his showroom. THe car's been there forever and he's got like a $40k price tag on it (he doesn't want to sell it). Anyway, that's just right around the corner from you. If you are just looking for someone to check it out and do diagnostics, etc, that might be a decent place to go.

Being a dealership, obviously they're not cheap.

Wright's Buick Inc. 8651 Centreville Road. Manassas, Virginia 20110. 703 361-6161

Sending you an email........

What shop in MD? I have had several MD trans shops work on my car - might have some insight for ya, I'm just 20 minutes (no  traffic) North of DC.

I have seen the GN at Wright's Buick. I've dreamed of winning the lottery and buying the car the same day. It would be pretty cool to buy a brand new Grand National that is still under factory warranty (I'm guessing it would be....it's never been titled.)

They're in Jessup. but I'm not going to put their name out there for a bash fest. I'm still hoping they take care of me properly....
