What's the best way to find a vac leak on a turbobuick? I know back in the old days you could cover the carb with your hands and if the engine didn't choke out then you had a leak.

spray carb cleaner around the engine, make sure you get stuff thats flamable. You will get a rise in rpms when you find the leak.

Just went through this. Carb cleaner didn't work for me. Ended up having to rig up a boost leak tester and used compressed air and soapy water. A few leaking vacuum lines I could hear easily, then the soapy water helped me find the intake gasket leaking.

is it on a hot air car or FI?

my car i cap off the turbo and put a air nozzle on a vacume line and dont go over 18 psi on the boost gage youll hear the hissing right away if you find anything

as for carbauroatoterer

not sure llol before my time

you don't need somethign flammable- just pouring plain water over things will seal up any vacuum leaks long enough for you to notice the change in rpm.
