Doing something different this year. Every year we (wife & I) go on a vacation it's usually planned long in advance. This yr we never planned anything and am going to try something different.

Leaving the 2nd wk of October, just plan on going to the vacation store the Monday before we leave and pick up a last minute deal to leave that Saturday. Don't want to do a cruise again, and don't want any long azz flights over 7-8hrs from Boston.

Recommendations?

Was thinking of Vegas, or Bahamas, there's a million places...

Too bad you aren't leaving the first week of Oct. Joe. You could make the West coast nationals in Vegas and then go break the banks. Mark :D

Don't know how long it would be to fly from Boston, buy my wife and I went to Disney World (the one in FL) for our honeymoon 7 years ago and had a blast. In Oct, in fact. Perfect time of year to go: kids are in school, weather was great. We had a lot of fun. They have the island of bars and had wine tasting out in Epcot. Incredible food, service, scenery. They've got golf, horseback riding...all kinds of other stuff for adults. Stay in one of the resorts and you won't be far from anything and won't even need a car. We'd love to go back.

HAHA, funny you should mention that, we honeymooned at the Carribean Beach Resort 5 yrs ago, loved it then bought a Disney Vactionclub Timeshare and own a place at the Boardwalk and go there every October. This year we aren't going and are going to do this vacation instead and go next yr for 2 wks to Disney :)

Take a look at this place. I have some friends that went and said it was great.

Be sure to check out the internet specials. Looks like some preaty decent specials.

Hawk's Cay Resort

Atlantis in the Bahamas is awesome, spent 2 weeks there on my honeymoon. The place is just incredible, but not cheap. Check it out.
Otto

Bermuda is a quick 2hrs by plane.
You can get a hurricane discount since it just hit the island last week :D

Joe, if you are looking for a romantic place ?

Maybe a second honeymoon ? My opinion...the nicest Island in the Caribbean (French West Indies), Your wife and you will never forget this place. Check this out:

very pricey, but beautifull. We are very much looking forward to going back. (Go to the food store), do breakfast and lunch at the apartment, to help you keep cost down, and treat yourselves to dinner.

We stayed here, they also own the car rental company and give you a package deal.

Gustavia (the capital), is very picturesque, "Le Toiny ( Hotel) & Restaurant" is a must, The Carl Gustaf Hotel is scenic, beaches are prestene (go with an open mind, especially Saline)
