Hey guys I have recently removed my powermaster setup to a vaccum setup. I installed a new master cylinder and vaccum canister and vaccum brake pedal . Bled the system and the car stops but the brake pedal sits very low. It seems like when I step on the brake pedal im all the way to the floor. There are no leaks in my system and I also bench bled the master cylinder. I was thinking the rod that attaches to the break pedal is not long enough and does not allow the brake pedal to come up higher. Anyone else have this issue? Can I buy a longer rod to attatch to the brake pedal? Sorry to put this here but not getting alot of info in the brake section.

Post a pic. Your new petal should be same length as old one mount holes are different.

The pedals were the same size and mounted in a different place. What kind of picture would you like to see?

Did you not compare them for length?

I don't think it's air. I bench bled the MC and all the system. I would even try to pry the pedal up manually and it's solid like the rod attaching to the pedal isn't letting it come up. I depress the pedal and it's stiff it doesn't go all the way to the floor but when it returns to its not depressed positions it sits really low.

Look at where the pedal makes contact with the brake & cruise control switches & see how close the pedal is to the switches or if it's making contact with them.

If it's not making contact with them, then something is amiss.

You also might have the switches stuck into their mounts too far not allowing the pedal to come back all the way. The switches shouldn't be protruding thru their mounts by more than 3/4", or just enough so that when the pedal returns, it pushes in the plungers in to shut off the brake lights & close the cruise control contact.

I have also checked the switches and they are barely coming out. It just seems like the rod is not long enough. Were pedals different in different year Regals.
