is there any benefit to having a vacuum/boost gauge over just a 30psi boost gauge?the vacuum is from 30psi to 25 psi boost, have a choice of either one, which one gives the best info?is vacuum something to watch?
I have always had a Vac/Boost gauge. The Vac. reading is a good way to make sure your car is running consistant, and that you have no leaks in the intake.
Auto Meter makes a nice 30-0-30 Unit that provides great readings. The gauge requires no extra hookup other then running the boost line.
I second Herb. Get the vacuum/boost gauge and never look back. It's also good to know when you are getting close to the boost sometimes too, not just when you're into it already.
My car originally had a 2-1/16" vac/boost gauge, but found it could be a little hard to read when things started getting a little hectic in the car. I ended up replacing it with a 2-5/8" boost gauge instead. I'm going to put a vac gauge under the radio along with a tranny temp gauge.
