will valley girdle work w/ our 109,s works well w/ sbc sbf dont see why would not work for a 109 .very simple and far cheaper than machining a crank case girdle set up.

I beleive you have a lifter girdle and a main cap/bearing girdle confused.

Lifter Valley girdles are used on blocks that are inherently weak in the lifter area. Buick 455 and Pontiac V8 suffer from this problem. With high lift roller cams, these engines break the lifter bore(s) away from the block.

109, Stage 1, and Stage 2 blocks don't have this problem. The stock block is weakest in the main bearing bulkhead area and the girdle designed for these engines tie the main cap to the pan rail area in an effort to strengthen the block.

From TA Performance's website: "Product ID: TA_1104
455 Lifter Bore Girdle

High-Lift Hydraulic, Solid and Roller Cams can add an excessive amount of stress to the conservative Buick lifter bores. Ensure your block against lifter bore breakage by incorporating this structural item. The TA lifter bore girdle is a structural unit, just like our block girdle. It is made from 1-1/2” steel bar stock machined to fit precisely into the lifter valley of the block. The lifter bore girdle uses adjustable load bolts for each lifter bore to ensure proper support to each lifter boss. As with our block girdle, once installed, the lifter girdle becomes an integral part of your engine and is bolted in place. Far better insurance against lifter bore breakage than that found with putties and metal plates. Plus the TA Lifter Bore Girdle does not pose a possible debris problem that can happen with putties. Installation will require assembly, which includes fitting, drilling, tapping and welding.

Developed and proven on Mike Tomaszewski’s 950hp normally aspirated, roller cam 532 cid engine. And now considered by many as a mandatory upgrade when race preparing a Buick 455 Block. Recommended for most roller cam combinations and higher end hydraulicand solid flat tappet combinations. Please call for more information. "
