is $750 a good deal for a 109 short block? It has lower mileage and just needs new pistons and probably recondition the rods. I've never really priced them out. It wasn't damaged or blown, just removed.

any info will help

also, what is the avg. price for machine work to hone the block, recondition the rods and install a girdle. Which brings me to a next question...the most I will probably ever run with this would be shooting for high 11's maybe 11.50s do I even need a girdle or can I get away with billet center caps? Thanks, I'm new to the engine stuff, the most I've ever done is put a cam in a 5.0

Here is my 2 cents on value and others will vary on value.
A tested good 109 bare block with caps & standard cylinder bore is worth from $250 to $400
Good stock rods sell for $40 to $60
Oil pan sell for $30-$50

Another way is contact any of the several people that regularly sell used major parts and see what they want for one.

Then I go and forget to list the crank value.
This will depend on what condition it is in.
If it is std/std and just need polishing it will be worth more than one that is 10/10 & needs to be cut.
This is one item that there has been a lot of discussion on the value.
$150 to $400 all depending.
