I have a BRF valve body in my trans with a fairly old ART CARR shift kit. What exactly do I need to look for to check if I have the latest mods / springs to help increase firmness of my shifts at WOT?
Is there a list of springs to check? How about valve sizes to check? What do I look for in the accumulator mods? Then the spacer plate mods?
I'm just looking for a little firmer shifts from 2-3 and 3-4 at WOT?

I have the valve body off so i want to check these things while its out.
The trans works great otherwise.

I seem to remember a thread asking a similar question recently....search 2-3 valve mod....that should bring up the thread. HTH

I tried a search and did not come up with anything.

What I am really trying to get to is, are there any parts I need to update from the Art Carr shift kit components I have currently installed? Like different springs, different drillings in the spacer plate, different valves, etc.
Since the valve body is out I would like to check. Thanks.

Undo the enitre art carr kit and get a CK kit. Call Chris and ask him all the questions you are posting here. His kit comes with a new plate, springs etc best on the market IMO...HTH.

There is plenty of info on this site about your questions you may have to try several different searches to find all you are looking for. Easiest way is just to call Chris or any buick trans vendor they all will help. There is not a lot of trade secrets being posted on this forum anymore.

Why not just give Art a call. That would seem to be the easiest and probably the least troublesome path based upon your criteria.

Just make sure to contact the original Art Carr and not one of the copycats with the same name.

I totally agree with this. There is so much in a CK performance kit I cant believe there is something youll need not in there. It is a perfectly balanced kit and it will make this so simple for you.

I love my tranny and its bone stock except a CK kit.

I sent an email to Chris at CK Performance but have to yet to hear back from anyone. Does he usually respond to emails directed to his website?
I thought I would ask him specifically about his kit.

I have put about 500 miles on mine since I put the CK kit on and its better than ever. I'd call 9-5 M-F thats what I did. Order it and install it.
