Ive been looking to get a new valve cover breather for my car, but on almost every one that I see they all say for the 86-87s. Is there a huge difference in the valve covers or something? Is there some reason that the breathers would only fit on 86/87 valve covers and not 84/85 valve covers?

I got one of Kirbans billet kind...havent tried the fit yet, but if it dont fit, he is good for the return/credit!

I bought a breather of of ebay for a 86-87 and it fit fine, no issues. just be careful not to get one too tall that hits the intake tube.

I bought a new one from Poston for $40. Works great-Installed after the stock breather setup cost me three new turbos. Brad 85GN

Only diff I can think of is that the 86/87 set will have a small breather for the front of the passenger valve cover. Driver's is same.

Why do you think the stock breather ruined 3 NEW turbos? Please elaborate!

The stock oil fill cap on the 85 hot airs has a protruding nipple that goes down into the oil fill tube and covers the opening to the line into the air intake. This protrusion is filled with a type of foam. In my case this foam became plugged up with oil and resulted in a pressurized block. The engine could not breathe. A pressurized block prevents oil in the turbo from draining into the lifter valley. This situation trashed the seals on the turbo and sends oil into the engine at the rate of one quart per 100 miles and makes the car a great crop duster.I could lay down som really impressive smoke screens. It took my mechanic and I 3 turbos before I called Limit Engineering who quickly diagnosed my problem. Thanks- Brad
