Hey Guys, I need some help, I have a 85 GN with the turbo over the valve cover you know the good old hot air cars :D pretty much and im not able to take the valve cover all the way off with out cutting my exaust to get the extra le way i have put the comp cams 890 springs in last weekend and went to seal it back up with them cork gaskets what a joke the drivers side was good no leaks but the pass. side of corse has to have a leak, And that bolt that is right down there by the A/C condensor is a B*** to get to right? I cant get a socket on it or really a end wrench, i Got a new set of rubber gaskets but since i cant take off the valve cover all the way becasue it hits the turbo down and up pipe would any one have any ideas on how to get the new gasket in there? Also i got some Red RTV silicon to put a little bit around were its leaking right now with the rubber one in place if i can get it in there, Im thinking that i might be able to move the valve cover around and get the gasket over the rockers, Sorry this is so long but i really hate oil leaks so if someone can help me iwth that and how to tighting that one bolt that would be a BIG help. Thank you Hope to hear

i would not use the rubber gaskets. Iwould go with the felpro perma dry valve cover gaskets they are better wont leak cant overtorque and will last longer than any thing i use them never leaked part number is

VS-50156T

do a search under perma dry under general buick tech and youl get more info on them

You pretty much have no choice, but to unbolt both the downpipe and up-pipe from the turbo, because the way the pass.-side valve cover is so snugged up close back there, don't forget to unbolt the downpipe from your cat. or test-pipe, that way you can move it to the side and the valve cover should just pop right off, hope that helps :)
