I have 34k on my GM rebuilt stock engine (oil pump failed and it was under extended warranty for the 1st owner). The car now has 95 k on it so I am assuming that when it was rebuilt the heads were not touched, but I may be wrong. What would new valve springs do for me performance wise, relibaility wise, and driveability wise? Should that be something next on my list after new tires? Thanks for your help/opinions

PS The majority of you tend to go with the CC 980? Are these the ones to use? Thanks again!

I contacted kirbans and they said there springs were 95#. Those are the ones im buying along w/ the tool. for 68$

I'd go with the CC 980's and contact Jack Cotton for the removal tool.

you dont need the tool just get a 14 mm crows foot two washers and a bolt with the same thread pattern as rocker shaft mount.
put 14 mm end on valve spring and 3/8 socket end on shaft mount then just tighten to compress and change spring.
