i just bought some new kirban valve springs from a friend for $15.00. Are they any good? i called kirban and they said they were 110lb.

I'd say that is a pretty good price. I use a GM 110# spring (part number in signature) and it works fine for me. Did the spring come with a spec sheet and a recommended install height? If it didn't, I would request a one from Kirban and install per recommendations.

I wouldn't use that spring on a stock cam...too much pressure...JMO

Comp 980s installed, as is, out of the box, is arguably the limit for the stock cam.

Will my 979s from Summit that Ive had for over a year in my basement work well with a stock cam? Ive heard they are the "best" choice. Thanks

i email kirban about a month ago and they responded that they are 95# springs and are perfect replacements. and also a kid at our local dyno day had them on a 120k car and worked great so i bought them and installed the over the weekend. But the driveshaft is out so i havent started it yet.

979's will work fine...use them with the stock cups...I currently use them with my 206/206...
