Wow, I can't believe a local street racing video I just saw last night is already on here. I think it even happened last night... I know that silver car, I'm in a car club with him. Believe the 600HP.... Going to have a 600+HP Cobra vs. Evo soon I think.

I'm a bit surprised at the closed minded post above yours.
FlyinGN, if you saw the mod list and knew the company, it would make sense that the 600 whp is true. You can make anything fast with money and the right people involved. That car is seriously fast and pulling on a car that hard that's trapping in the 120s is no joke IMO. I guess 600 whp from a street car with 4 cyl. isn't impressive.

I heard about the race coming up with those 2 and it should be a great video and awesome race. The EVO clearly has the weight advantage, but the Cobra should be bringing some serious torque.

Yup, this proves once again cubic $$$ beats about anything. :D The silver car traps in the high 90s(98 or 99mph I think) in the 1/8 and that was spinning every shift.

I think the EVO would have more frictional drivetrain losses too, so it should be close.

Well, considering I hate japanese cars I will say these are somewhat impressive, but definitley not worth the money to make them faster. Theres a guy around here I know that has a evo. He dropped 15K in his his motor and he is still only running 12s. weaksauce.....

do you by chance know his trap mph?

sounds like either some dimewit tried to mod a regular lancer ls n/a car or something. either that he's not concerned with et and is not ragging the car on launches.

I dont know what he traps but his brother tells me he smoked a porsche turbo easy, but he "needs to work on his launches". THis is all second hand info from his brother, but I told him I want to race him but I havent heard anything back from him.

I justr watched those videos and now I know why I dont like rice rockets......because the owners talk to much.

A person that needs to work on their launches in an AWD car probably shouldn't be driving. :)

if the dyno numbers i saw on this kids car are legit, he is putting 550/475 range of power.....

People were at the shop when it was tuned said it made 601 whp at 30 psi and was running 35 psi when he picked up Saturday and during the races. I don't know for sure because I wasn't there, but I do know that it put a serious hurting on a modified LS1 with bolt-ons, Cam & 100 shot. Usually that setup puts an LS1 near 500 rwhp and it received a severe beating a few times.

Thats what I said and then he said all the wheels burnout.....I dont believe it.

just because you have all 4 wheels getting power does not mean its necessarily easier to launch than a 2wd vehicle.

Those AWD Syclones were a beast too, but could hardly get even a chirp outta those things!(auto trans helped though)

Ever feel the clutch on one of these STIs? Its all there, thats for sure. Quite a heavy duty piece. Only reason I know is they were traded in alot at the dealership I worked at, and I was a used car make ready guy. They are some kinda strong outta the hole though! (even stock) Leak alot at all differential output shaft seals! Seems like they all did!

Respectable cars though.....(performance wise)

AWD 600 hp

Maybe he does have 600 hp but I bet his drive train doesn't make it for more that a few months. If he is just beating it from a roll it'll be ok for a bit, but keep launching it from a stop and I bet you break something. Back in 03' ford's SVT Lightning was going to be all wheel drive but they couldn't develop a drive train that could hold up to the 390 hp, 450 ft/tq that the motor put out what makes you think a drive train that is designed to take 250 hp will stand up to 600 for more that a few months. I just don't get why somebody would spend all that money on an economy car when they could have bought a muscle car like ours that was designed to take the abuse. I'm not going to sit here and talk bad about ricers, everybody has different taste. I've seen some impressive cars that were built right like the one in the video (35lbs boost, wow!), but just cause you put a wing and a fart can on a Honda doesn't mean it's fast. Any why spend $15k to run 12's and get crappy gas mileage when you could have just bought a turbo regal, got ok mileage and still had money left over to buy other stuff. :D

Those kids in the EVO vs. the Ferrari is a joke. Who knows if he was even racing them.

Like fast Evo's that handle too? Check out our local tuner:

He says the WRX STi beyound 400rwhp is a little unreliable. The EVO he has made 600rwhp on a stock shortblock. The main problem is the transaxle blowing up in both cars.
