Greetings folks,

The 200R4 I have upshifts nicely, but when I'm cruising and go to punch it, the tranny oftentimes simply won't downshift. What could be the matter? The tranny is working fine in every other respect.

Thank you,

Hey Mark!
Have you serviced the trans lately? You might want to pull the pan off and check it out. Dirt/debris could plug the throttle valve up and give you problems. Been there. Done that.
Let us know.

Greetings Lee!

Interesting - the problem started at about the same time I solved a flair-shift problem (I got Bruce's aluminum pan with the rear-mount pickup, which solved pump cavitation like a charm! That's a real quality package, incidentally.) I wonder if some debris generated by a couple of flare shifts could have found its way into TV valve area? Fortunately, after a couple of flare shifts, we found almost no debris in the pan, and the fluid smelled/looked fine, at the time we swapped-in Bruce's pan.

So thanks for the tip, Lee; I'll drop the pan and check it out.

Best,

Add a click or so of tv as many as maybe three. I bet it is that easy. Cables do stretch.

And thanks for the kudos on the products. :D

Thanks Bruce, that was it! I re-set the cable according to standard procedure, and found that the cable had stretched about 0.15" (I think that's three clicks worth or so.) What a difference! The car's snappy perofrmance is back again!

Best regards,
