I see there are companies that offer services to transfer vhs to dvd. the prices are all over.

I also see software that will allow a VHS to hook up to your computer.

Anyone with experince with having this done or doing by self? advice?

If you have a Costco I would check there. We had some video done at ours but I'm not sure if they all offer it. Was pretty cheap too.

I bought a cheap Magnavox DVD/VHS recorder from Best Buy.

Works great so far. :)

What if you want to get it on your computer to edit it or make small youtube clips..

..

Thanks Guys, I like the Idea of a 1 to 1 recorder,, Will have to stop in at Best buy

I bought a TerraTec G3 comes with software that allows you to record and edit DVD's and burn them to disk. Was only $85 and works pretty well.
