I copied a video to a disc and then saved to a file. That file is 509mb. I moved it to a compressed zip file which is 482mb. Both are too large to email.

What am I doing wrong? Its only a 3 minute vid.

Thanks.

What program are you using? You can incode with another codec and get it smaller. Choose something like .mpg and set the resolution. If you made a .avi, it will be rather large.

you can encode it differently to make the file smaller or you could do a file transfer via MSN messenger or Yahoo messenger. Most email services has a 10mb limit on attachments.

Try using Windows Movie Maker that comes with XP and save it as a .wmv files which will take considerably less space.

Thanks Guys for the help.

I ended up uploading it to youtube. It took 5 hours. I then sent the link to the buyer.

Quick fix for now. I'll try all suggested solutions for a more permanent fix.

Thanks again.
