DAYUM!!!! Now if that isn't a close call I don't know what is... This vid really goes to show how quick you reacted cause I'd venture to say a lot of people probably would've T-boned him.. I hope Donnie has learned a valuable lesson from this, that when you unload the suspension get out of the throttle and stay out of the throttle!!!

NOTE to myself: Never race at this race track :)

Sorry about your crash man, hope you get back out on the streets soon.

I almost don't want to look.
So I watched it, what caused him to drive into your lane?
It looks like he might have broken an axle trying to drive though wheel hop.
Thank God you are ok!!!

I'm still not sure. I thought he was over closer to my lane when he peddled it but he was still close to the groove after watching the vid. Looks to me like the car just wouldn't hook from peddling to fast. When it broke loose it turned so fast there was no way to control it. These radials don't recover from tire spin like a slick does when peddling. The car has to completely stop spinning before you get back in it. In his case a monster 632 will kill the tires when you stomp the gas.

wow does that suck! Glad your ok and sorry to see a turbo Buick get hurt like that. I've seen a bunch of crash vids but that was a hard one to watch. You just knew it was going to get ugly fast. Hopefully all works out for you!

Nothing wrong with the track.. A guy ran 5.08 on radials out of the right lane just before that pass.

Nice job Dusty, as I told you at the track, it could have been worse..

Thats the one thing I worry about more than anything else at the track. Once your on the track your insurance (at least mine) is left at the door. If I get run into I have to go after the other guy on my own to recover anything.

Glad to see you made it out ok.

I posted in the picture thread with that link. IMO, he should of let out of it.

Ditto!!

Thankfully no one was hurt...that I know of anyways.

Dam, that sucks Dusty. im glad you are ok man.
whats its gonna take to get it back on the road?
Was that with the new rack and pinion?

glad you are that good of a driver to avoid him, good luck getting your car back together.

I still find it amazing that at those speeds, with all that going on, that drivers like you can still find a way to avoid a collision. Nice driving! A lesser driver would've hit that guy. I'm glad everyone was okay, sucks about the car.

Jim

Definately could have been deadly! NICE DRIVING, YOU SAVED 1 MAYBE 2 LIVES!!!

what was that other guy thinking staying in it...I guess he really wanted to win. I hope his car isnt fixable.

I was gonna say that, too. But hindsight is 20/20 so I edited my post. IMO the guy never should've gotten back in it. He clearly didn't have control of the car. But, again, we're talking about decisions made in fractions of a second. He chose poorly.

Jim

Ya, but that is like the first thing you learn in racing...you always let out of it when you start losing control. I've seen a ton of this stuff happen before because people wouldn't let out of it. This was totaly the worst one. Thanksfully Dusty saw and reacted well in the situation

Man that sucks so bad, I would have felt like going postal on that idiot as I am sure you did.

That is so scary to watch how quick it happened. Your lucky you saw him and were able to get out of the way.

As far as the other guy, yea it sucks. I understand people are going to be mad at him, but anyone who races at the track, especially at that level, knows it's a risk your taking.
