Well, it always seems to happen to me on a Saturday when everyone is out enjoying their weekend and there is noone to call for help. Put the motor in in the A.M., had lunch, and planned on putting the tranny in in the afternoon. Feelin great with a big smile on my face as this car will be track ready tommorrw. Wrong! While reading Vigilante's instructions ( Yes! i'm one of those that do read instruction ) They say to replace the upper transmission line fitting with theirs to retain more pressure in the convertor. Well I already have tons of line presssure after Vince Janice did the prep work on it, and I'm thinking this fitting will create too much pressure. Has anyone with a RACE PREPPED tranny used Vigilante's fitting?? Well I figured that I could still get the tranny in the car and sort this out later being how it is a external mod. BUT---- there is always a but, the instructions mention an O-ring on the input shaft. I don't have one on it and am looking for advise as to it's purpose and whether I need it as the instrutions state? So my tranny still sits on the bench w/o an O-ring and my big dreams are shot until I get some help from you guys. with the GS Nats this coming week, I probably won't get anyone on the phone . Thanks for letting me vent, and praying for some answers so I can get this project finished before Englishtown next week. Brian

o-ring on the input shaft ?? what shaft are we talking about? the "end " of the shaft that goes into the the converter ?

Input shaft o-ring

Have you called your local tranny shop about that o-ring? They
may have a can or bucket of o-rings and little stuff like that. You
might get some for free. BTW, the o-ring is usually dark gray in
color-not black like a regular o-ring. Good luck! :)

is the o-ring on the end of the shaft ONLY required for a lock-up converter ? thanks.

KWIKR 1, My understanding is that non lock ups don't need the o-ring. I ran my AC 9" w/o it and thought nothing of the o-ring untill I read Vigilantes instructions. If i'm wrong, will someone chime in and set things straight? Brian

I'm running a non/lock up as well with out the o ring . I was just wondering if it was needed for some reason or another . thanks.
