visible plate numbers

I see ads on CL with license plates blocked out I assume so nobody can trace the owner.
We have pics on here with plate numbers visible.
Is there any reason to be concerned?

You have to drive down the road for everyone to see don't you? That's the way I see it so it doesn't bother me in a pic online.

I figure that if someone wants my car, they will find it. My plate is visible when I'm out in the car, and that is the most likely place some thief is going to go looking for it. It would be too difficult for them to troll forums and plan on stealing a car based on a few pics. They're going to want to scope it out in person first.

and it's not as easy as it used to be to track someone down based on the license plate.. cops don't just run plates and tell you who owns the car...

Well said. I could never understand the need to obscure plate numbers in photos either.

Im lucky my garage is no where near where the car is registered. Only insurance knows where car is kept. But I am more worried about people following me to garage etc... but im.lucky when.people.ask I dont have a gn just a regal w a 307 v8
